Clifton's housing is denser and older than the Bergen suburbs across the river. Botany and Athenia have a heavy stock of 1920s craftsman bungalows — small footprint, tight eaves, steep front-pitched roofs, often with original cedar still hiding under two layers of asphalt. Allwood is mostly post-war capes, and the corridors along Main and Van Houten have a lot of two-family stock.

Lots run narrow — 30–40 feet wide is normal — which changes the logistics: street dumpster permits required on most jobs, sidewalk plywood for foot traffic, and crane access can be tight on the older blocks. Our second crew bases out of Clifton itself, which means we hit most Passaic addresses in 20–30 minutes flat. Permit turnaround at City Hall is reliably 3–5 days.

Do you have a Clifton crew or do you drive in?

How tight are the parking permits?

My house is a 1920s bungalow with cedar under the asphalt — what does that change?
Cedar removal adds a day to the schedule and about $1,200–$2,000 to the cost (mostly labor and dump fees). Most Botany/Athenia bungalows we touch have at least one cedar layer under the asphalt. We disclose it before tear-off.
Can you do a same-day tarp in Clifton?
