I have slate. Should I restore it or replace with asphalt?
Depends on how much of the original slate is still sound and what your long-term plan for the house is. Slate restoration is real money but it's also a real asset. If you're going to be in the home another 20+ years and the slate is mostly intact, restoration usually wins. We'll lay out both options with photos and pricing within 12 hours of the inspection.
Do you do copper flashing on Tenafly custom homes?
Yes — copper step flashing, chimney counter-flashing, and valley work are standard on custom builds where it matches the existing detailing. Copper costs more upfront and lasts the life of the roof — most of our customers find that math works.
What about the steep east-side hillside roofs?
Steeper pitches need proper anchoring, more safety setup, and usually a bigger crew rotation. We've done plenty of them. Crew sizes run 4–6 on most jobs, and our inspector walks the roof personally before quoting so the scope reflects what's actually up there.
How fast can you get a written quote out?
