Wayne is one of our biggest-footprint towns: half-acre lots, 2,500+ sq ft split-levels on Hamburg Turnpike, custom colonials in Preakness and Mountain View, and the eclectic 1930s Packanack Lake colony with its small-scale cottages built around the lake.
Split-level re-roofs are the most common job type
A typical Wayne job is a 1960s or 70s split-level with three pitches, an attached two-car garage, and a rear addition that’s frequently low-slope. Tear-off is 3 days with a crew of 6, sometimes 4 days if there are skylights to swap. Driveway is always big enough for the dumpster — no Wayne job we’ve done has needed a street permit.
Packanack Lake is a different specialty
The 1930s lake colony around Packanack Lake has a real architectural pocket — small footprint cottages, eclectic gables, sometimes original cedar shingle still hiding under post-war asphalt. We strip both layers, replace any rotten decking (always finds some), and reroof with GAF Timberline HDZ in Pewter or Driftwood to match the colony aesthetic. The lake association reviews visible roof changes; we handle the notice and any required approvals.
